Volunteer Coaches information

BSC is an organization that relies on the use of volunteer coaches to help run our recreational program.   If you are interested in the rewards of coaching your child's or another child's team, please contact our Registrar, Teresa Fox.   BSC does have training class re-imbursement for all recreational coaches who attend OSA sanctioned coaching classes and then coach for another year with BSC.

Per our User agreement with City of Bixby Parks the use of game fields for practice, scrimmages, or any other use is strictly PROHIBITED without the written approval from BSC Board.   Any team found using the game fields without written permission will be fined $50 for first violation, $100 for second violation, and $200 for third violation.   Any third time violators will have to go before the BSC Board for further disciplinary action including possibility of expulsion from Club.

Celebrating our 47th Year.

Coaching tips

  • Seek training from Oklahoma Soccer Association or look for additional information in our Coaches Resources.
  • Establish contact with all parents as soon as possible with your contact information, practice times and locations, equipment needs for each player (cleats, shin guards, ball, and water jug), Coach may elect to hold parents meeting before first practice or at first practice to include coaching philosophy, expectations of parents and players (transportation, communication, sportsmanship, etc.), double check medical release forms, and go over uniforms and schedule.
  • Assign a team manager or administrator to handle and schedule snacks, drinks, cancellations or changes to practices or game schedules.
  • Assign an assistant coach to limit or reduce distractions and confusion.   Selection should be made with prior knowledge of their coaching philosophy and agenda.   Must pass background check with BSC, please contact Teresa Fox our registrar.
  • Equipment needed will be some cones, a few extra balls, air pump, and bibs.
  • REMEMBER THAT ACCEPTING A COACHING POSITION MEANS ACCEPTING RESPONSIBLITIES.
